- Provide direction and leadership to highly specialized technical resources in the department; delegate work, articulate goals and oversee the work of individuals responsible for the network infrastructure and production support work
- Ensures, measures and evaluates the progress of initiatives against established operational goals / plans. Manages day-to-day operational or tactical activities. Identifies and understands customer drivers against available supply of resources (money, time, people). Anticipates obstacles that impact operational / project plans
- Creates processes and standard operating procedures that meet corporate and IT objectives. Represents department’s/team’s interests when clarifying interfaces with other functions. Promotes continuous improvement efficiencies within and outside work team
- Responsible for performance management administration and salary administration within team
- Create budget plan and manage/track all levels of financial target
- Responsible for all deliverables in the development phase of the SDLC; Participate in development reviews throughout the development life cycle, including production resolutions
- Responsible for analyzing and making specific recommendations on improvements that can be integrated into business processes
Minimum Job Requirements:
- 7+ years’ hands-on work experience in an enterprise level networking environment responsible for the design, implementation and support of infrastructure devices
- 3+ years of experience managing technical resources responsible for the implementation, maintenance and availability of a large scale, mission critical, nationwide (10,000+ node) network
- Management experience includes leading one or more work units with work accountabilities that may span more than one capability or function. Includes experience with hiring, promoting, managing people, performance management, planning and administration of budgets; also includes experience with planning and setting tactical and strategic direction.
- Possess expert knowledge of enterprise level networking technologies, architectural and design principles and industry trends and directions.
- Possess expert knowledge of networking protocols, network security measures and network capacity planning techniques
- The candidate will have a proven track record of successful technical leadership with five+ years of network software and hardware design and implementation experience in a large-scale, multi-protocol network
- Must have strong demonstrated ability to manage people, financial resources and information as well establish, implement and manage effective work processes and organization structure
- Must be able to demonstrate past problem solving successes achieved in a highly complex technical environment
