Job Description:

SUMMARY:

Responsible to provide database and application solution strategy, technical design, architecture and support for carrying out the implementation of enterprise information management systems. Assesses requirements and provides technical assistance for architecting, executing and developing database objects and ETL workflows. Focuses on modeling, optimization, modernization, standardization and performance improvement. Designs and implements ETL procedures for data integration and warehousing. Designs tests and testing environments. Creates and maintains documentation. Develops comprehensive backup and disaster recovery procedures. Has knowledge of information management industry concepts, practices, procedures and processes. Oversees the work of database administrators and developers on complex projects. Provides mentoring to less-experienced team members and leadership on projects. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Works harmoniously in a cross-functional global team comprised of managers, supervisors, analysts, systems personnel, architects and other engineers in ensuring the delivery of quality solutions.Provides general support on information technology to design, develop, execute and maintain the information management systems (RDBMS, Data Lake, Data Warehouse etc.)Participates in multiple projects/efforts simultaneously.Programs and implements solutions using modern techniques and tools.Works with others to determine and state complicated business requirements and processes.Provides excellent customer service by responding to and assisting with resolution to issues, including system outages, which may occur outside of normal business hours.Performs administrative duties and tasks such as tracking time against projects, etc.Manages all database servers and services and takes corrective action to minimize down-time and provide acceptable performance, security and reliability.Performs database tuning.Monitors database space, audits backups, and administers security.Other duties as assigned. 

REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's Degree from 4 year college or universityBachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or related IT field preferred. 0+ years of experience (Engineer I)1-5 years of experience (Engineer II)Applied knowledge of or actual experience developing in at least two of the following: RDMS, Hadoop (Hive, Spark, Kafka), MS Azure (APIM, Logic Apps, IoT, Data Factory, Azure SQL Data Warehouse), Talend, SAP Netweaver, SAP HANA. Working knowledge of MS SQL Server, data integration concepts and data warehousing. Excellent organization and communication skills and demonstrated collaboration skills. Ability to work in a team environment, understand and consistently apply technical standards and produce technical documentation. Experience with the Kimball data warehousing/business intelligence lifecycle methodology or other modern warehousing patterns and practices is a plus. Ability to report on progress to project and department managers.Combination of education, training and/or experience will be considered for this position.
